I recently purchased a 2gb SD card (OCZSD150-2GB) to be used with a Canon SD700IS. After taking roughly 300 photos it gives me the message "Memory Card Error!" and it says "Card locked!". At first, when I recharged the battery, it seemed to work fine, but that only lasted a couple of times -- now I cannot access the card at all in the camera.

Efforts to re-format the card are not allowed as the Canon cannot read it and therfore the option is "greyed out"... please help!

I note that other posters have commented on the same thing.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Do you have a card reader to try the card in?

There are some utilities in this post that may help, if you can get it into a card reader to run them.

I have already retrieved my photos fromt he card -- I just need help in getting the Canon SD700 (or any other digital device) to read the card again. I have access to a card reader, and have even formatted the disc, but no luck -- the camera still cannot read the card -- Memory Error

Try this program to low level format the card. If it still doesn't work in the camera after than we will need to replace it

Steve,

The Panasonic formatting tool helped resolve the issue when I re-formatted the card -- however, I expereienced the same errors after taking approximately 200 photographs. I receive a "Memory Card Error" message inthe camera, and it indicates that the card is locked (which it is not). I went through the same process to recover my photos and reformat the card using the Panasonic tool you recommended, but this is getting cumbersome.

The whole reason I purchased the 2GB card was so that I could take hundreds of photographs without concern for transfering them every so often.

Is it possible that the card is defective and therefore requires that I reformat it every so often?

Let me know.
