My wonderful 4GB Rally 2 was working great.

However, starting yesterday, USB 2.0 ports stopped recognizing it. When I plug it into my Logitech G15 Keyboard USB ports, which run at 1.1 speeds, the drive is easily recognized.

However when trying it across various computers, from my current Vista Ultimate X64 to my roommate's XP MCE, to my girlfriend's Macbook, the USB ports don't recognize it. This wasn't the case previously, as all the USB ports worked fine. Yet, my G15 is still reading it at 1.1 speeds.

I tried reformatting it using NFTS, FAT32, FAT, and the formatting tool off the website as well, to no avail.

I haven't done anything different outside of my normal use procedures (transfering class notes off my girlfriend's mac onto my computer) that I could think of, so I'm not sure what's up.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea of what could be happening?

I am actually not sure what is really happening. I would guess the file structure physically or something like that. Send me an email with this thread linked. Email in the sig.

Hey thanks for the reply!

It actually started working again.

I formatted it FAT32, and then left it plugged into the computer when Windows loaded. What happens usually is Windows takes a long time to load when a USB device with some kind of storage (flash or sd card) is attatched. I left it in as Windows loaded, causing it to take 5 minutes or so load.

Afterwards, it started working on 2.0 ports. I'm not sure if FAT32 made a difference or not (as it didn't work before), but I'll play around with it more to see what happens.

Again thanks again!

Nice to hear. Let me know if you get issues in the future.
