View Full Version : AI7 - Isn't DDR VTT meant to be half of vDimm?

Hi all,

still working on my new rig, slowly raising the FSB and other settings. One thing that caught my eye in MBM was the readings for DDR VTT. Now I don't know a whole heap on this but I thought this reading was meant to be *Half* your vDimm. My vDimm is set at 2.8v and the DDR VTT is meant to be 1.4v which it is until I put the machine under load, then the DDR VTT starts to fall lower and lower (see pic).

Is this that *Droop* thing that I read about on early Max3 boards, is this normal?

P.S: Is it VTT or VVT? (MBM lists it as VVT?).

i wouldn't trust MBM5 to give you accurate values

used Abit EQ to see what VTT says yet? as my AI7 EQ reports VTT always 55% of vdimm set

Follow eva2000's advice (he is the man). It is possible that you are getting some droop, but at the 237fsb you are running I rather doubt it. The AI7 is a good solid board.

Hi guys,

ok thanks for that, had to check it out. Still playing around with it all. It's hard when you first start P4 Overclocking, with the CPu multi lock and all, has been tricky to know which component is *maxed*. At this stage I guess my 2.6GHz has maxed out on 236MHz FSB, either that or my AI7 can't run stable above that speed. .

cya laters. . . . .

i just installed MBM5 on AI7 and can confirm the VTT is a MBM5 issue not the board

i.e. under load VTT falls as prime goes on and goes back to normal 50-55% of vdimm at idle LOL

So, the fact that VTT only drops when under load would make sense to me. When idle and the motherboard is not stressed VTT is fine. Am I missing something? It sounds like you just proved that the problem does exist on AI7. ;)

nah with Abit's own EQ, VTT is steady under load it's a MBM5 bug as i see it

Maybe the Abit EQ program just covers it up. Can you test with a DMM?
