Default Timing issues 2GB OCZ DDR3 PC3-16000 2000MHz Platinum EB Enhanced

    • OCZ part number:-OCZ3P2000EB2GK
    • Module size and kit size:-2x1GB
    • CPU model and rated speed:-E8200 & E8400
    • Overclocked CPU speed:-3840 & 3750
    • Divider and FSB used:-480 & 500
    • Motherboard and revision:-GA-X48T-DQ6
    • Motherboard Bios rev:-F5A
    • Video card:-BFG 8800GTS 320MB
    • Power supply:-Thermaltake 1200
    • Operating System:-XP
    • CPU and System Cooling:-Water cooled
    • CPU and System temps:-52L 35C
    • Purchased at/on:-Memory C 17/06/08
    • Country:-UK
    • Memory voltage:-1.8~1.85v

I am having trouble running this memory on my Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6. Auto Settings at 500x7.5 at 1:2 = 2000 doesn't post.

Tried the modules in a DFI UT X48-T3RS LanParty auto settings there got me occt stable at 480x8.

    Tried
    Code:
    Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency Time (tCL)............: 9
    DRAM RAS# to CAS# (tRCD).........8:
    DRAM RAS# Precharge (tRP).........:8
    Precharge Delay (tRAS)............:24
    Advanced Timing Control
    ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD)............: 10
Rank Write to READ Delay (tWTR)...:23
    Write To Precharge Delay (tWR)....:22
Refresh to ACT Delay (tRFC).......: 60
Read To Precharge Delay (tRTP)....: 7
    Static tREAD Value (tRD)..........: 8
    Static tREAD Phase Adj............: Auto
    Command Rate (CMD)................: 1N
also tried Ryder's timing suggestions here
    Voltage has been 1.80~1.85v
They ran better on the DFI though I could only get stability there at 480. The gigabyte will handle higher FSB , but struggles with the timings.

Any input gratefully accepted. I understand these are Samsung chips & that higher TRFC is requied , have tried that with the above settings with no added benefit.

Am currently only checking stability with superPi 32
As you see , not there yet

    thanks.

Can you test with your CPU at stock speed or closer to it? Use one of the other dividers to get the memory back up to 2000Mhz

    Sorry don't understand max divisor is 4 so stock FSB = 333.33x 4 = 1333Mhz ram

The Cpu is stable. I'm currently testing at 480x8 @ 4.00D 1920Mhz as that was stable on the DFI X48-T3RS, Was trying to achieve stability at 1920Mhz before moving up to 2000Mhz.

Currently the only platform we support DDR3-2000 on is the 790i by Nvidia for just this reason. Your FSB had to be at 500 on an Intel chipset to run DDR3-2000, some board/CPU combos will not achieve this.

I would say you are off to a very good start if you are at 1920 so far. You may have to run 9-9-8 to get 2000.

it didn't say that on the packet

So roughly around here then for 2k ??
    Would appreciate your input.

Seemed to run better on the DFI , though there the FSB seemed more resticted, swings & roundabouts I guess.

What would you say waould be the average clock then on Intel chipsets for these modules ??

    thanks

No, but it says it here: http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...dwidth_edition

Yes that looks pretty good there for timings.
