    Default Any details on OCZ Agility Series?

    Dear OCZ-Team,

    is there additional Information besides the info on the website that you could provide for this new series? What controller is being used? Looking at the Specs I would guess an Indilinx-Controller or Samsung but you already have Vertex and Summit. Maybe it's the new JMicron-Controller?
    When will the new drive be released?

    Thanks

    Its a budget series that will take over from Core and Solid. Not sure I can say what the controller is yet.

    Its like Vertex but a little slower

    Mm. I hope it's Indilinx. If there was a more affordable drive that performs in the same way as the Vertex then I believe people would snap them up.
    I am not employed by OCZ. Anything I post is opinion, and not official OCZ statement.

    Indeed, saw a news flash with this new SSD from OCZ.
    Let's see it's performance and what controller.
    (Can't wait)

    My guess is this is new JMicron controller. I think Indilinx or Samsung controllers are kinda expensive to make value line SSD.

    I assume OCZ uses older/cheaper NAND. That would explain why there is no 250GB Version. It's too early for the new JMicron.

    @edit
    The JMF612 (new JMicron) is not set for mass production before July. I can't imagine that OCZ is already showing a series based on that controller on their website when there won't be real SSDs for months.

    I'm just waiting for big, cheap reliable SSD's. They don't have to be fast, just solid state.

    SSD's are moving at an alarming rate to say the least.

    Hey Tony,

    I think there is a mistake on the Agility website:
    "Available in 30GB (30), 60GB (64)" -> I believe it should be 32GB.

    Can you release any additional information today?

    According to http://tweakers.net/nieuws/60511/ocz...ds-update.html OCZ confirmed it is the same as a Vertex but with cheaper NAND flash chips

    Agility... Hm, nice name btw . It seems like the label designer plays World of Warcraft (or maybe another MMORPGs), since the color is chosen correctly - agility potions/elixirs are mostly green: http://www.wowhead.com/?items=0.2&filter=na=agility. Does OCZ plan to release Strength, Intelect, Spirit and Stamina SSD series? E.g. Stamina will be SLC drives with more MTBF and so on? These drives will be being sold lightning fast among MMO community .
