    Ok, time to start guessing!

Can't be SLC, since that's EX. Should be the same controller family, since its a vertex.

    So here's a few possibilities:

    - new Indilinx Jetstream controller, which features SATA 6
    - more cache (very likely)
    - multiple barefoot controllers
    - better use of a single barefoot controller (unlikely)
    - faster MLC chips

    MLC

Up to 278 reads 213 writes.

    hand picked nand

Its around 10% or so faster than Vertex and 10% or so more expensive

for a single drive scenario this would be sweet.

No offense, but you said the same thing about Agility being 10% cheaper.

This is probably going to be around 500$ or more for the 120GB with our luck. :P

I guess with more Indilinx based products, the more reason to keep working on the firmware.

Is there any news on the firmware lately?

Agility should be 10% cheaper or better...if its not moan at the resellers

FW is still in the works...

    Tony,

Having just got a Vertex 30Gb a couple of weeks ago, and being my first foray into the world of SSD, I am a bit of a noob.

Is there any performance gains to be had with the upcoming FW releases for the Indilinx controller, or is it already at the maximum performance?

Hmm, so you can get a vertex +/- 10% heh

I don't really see the point of having a -10%, 0% and +10% drive. The cost of SSD will always get lower over time, so these percentages get smaller relative to an absolute dollar.

Want. I've been obsessively reading these forums and almost pulled the trigger the other night to have one ready for Win 7 launch. I think I'll wait for the Turbo =D

Just want to know whether there's any improvement on random write. Maybe bigger cache and better compatibility?

The top speed 10% add does not mean much...It's already fast enough, close to SATA limitation, and far behind raid 0 of old ones.
