    Running OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 at Rated Speed HELP!

    OK guys so lately I have been trying to make my ram run at rated speed DDR3 1600mhz (OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 1.9v 7-7-7-24 Model:OCZ3P16004GK 2x2gb=4gb) I am running the sticks at factory settings with factory recommended timings/voltages With a MCH Latch of 400mhz and a System memory Multiplier of 2.0D which gives me 800mhz for a 1:1 ratio, It can go stable all the way to 3.33D which gives 1333mhz which is not bad. But I want to get what I paid for which is 1600mhz with the rated timings.

    When I set it to MCH Latch: 400mhz and the System Memory Multiplier: 4.0D which gives me 1600mhz but unfortunately It doesn't Post at this setting, most likely because of the advanced timing settings which I don't know how to deal with and that;s why I'm getting to you guys!

    Here are a couple pictures of how I am running everything for now, would like to know what to change in order to make it post at 1600mhz.

    Thanks!

    Hello:

    Looking through your settings I can suggest the following changes:

    Ease Performance Enhance back down to {Standard} from Extreme. [Like the red warning says in photo one]

    Set your tRFC to {88} [relaxing this aids in stability]

    Set Command Rate to {2T}

    Set MCH Core Voltage to {1.35 volts}

    If you still have a failure mode, try running Memtest86+ v4.0 on one DRAM module at a time in the slot closest to the CPU to see
    if only one module may be bad. Report back your results.

    Tried what you suggested without luck... Ran Memtest on both sticks a while ago and both passed without problems...

    This is so frustrating... Have tried adjusting settings from timmings, 7-7-7-24 all the way to 8-8-8-24 without luck, command rate to 2T, Adjusted the TRFC as you suggested, increased MCH voltage to 1.360v without success...

    Wondering what other settings should I try, or maybe a template of a working configuration would help.

    Anyone here to give support?

    BUMP! Why is the OCZ tech support so weak?

    Very Frustrating situation... cant get the ram to run at rated speed and on top of that no support to back me up...

    Each stick runs at 1600 with no errors in Memtest.. did I read you correctly?

    No stability in the OS with 1 stick at a time?

    The system wont post at 1600mhz, I tested the sticks @ 1333mhz (memtest) which they passed the test both. What I am having problem is making the PC post with the ram running at 1600mhz, once it posts it will be easier. Any other thing I may check/change in order to achieve the goal?

    Have you lowered the CPU multi so you stop overclocking the CPU while you test to see if the ram is the issue?

    Also.. there is more than 1 4.0 multiplier, what is your CPU? Your system details being filled out would be most helpful. http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...php?f=223&a=52

    I have tested lowering the multiplier all the way to 7 in order to run at stock speed with 1600fsb, Without luck. The max multiplier my cpu supports is 10.5x

    Just updated System Details!

    Please update to the F4C bios for one.

    Use the 4.0B multiplier I think it is (the one for 333 FSB CPU).

    Some of the multi's do not work as they should.

    The F4c is a Beta bios, don't know if It will be safe to use this bios... will try with the 4.0B multiplier and see how it goes.

    Edit: I just tried what you suggested, set the MCH latch to 333mhz (also tried auto), the multiplier to 4.0B also tried A, TRFC to 88 CMD to 2.0T, MCH Voltage to 1.35. NOTHING!

    I think this is doable, but I need a configuration in what to change, Voltages, advanced timing control values... I think It can be achieved...

    I just upgraded to bios F4c Beta, and got it to work at 1600 mhz, with the follownd settings it boots fine:

    MCH Frequency Latch:------->Auto/400mhz/266mhz
    Dram Timing Selectable:------>Auto/Auto/4.0A

    If I set it up to what I want to make it run it will give a few consecutive beeps and restart without posting, which is:

    MCH Frequency Latch:------->400mhz
    Dram Timing Selectable:------>4.0D

    I was playing around with the MCH/ICH
    MCH Core-----------------> Currently Using 1.160v
    MCH Reference------------>Normal
    MCH/Dram Reference------>Normal
    ICH I/O------------------->Normal

    I set up everything above except (MCH core) to normal and MCH core to 1.050 and everything below Dram Voltage to auto as well and it posts with te setup I want to runn with which is:

    MCH Frequency Latch:------->400mhz
    Dram Timing Selectable:------>4.0D

    The bad thing is that it restarts when it's going to boot.

    I'm pretty sure what it needs is to be find tuned in the sweet spot in order to work with the settings.

    Any ideas?
